Mental Nutrition

Ken Bartle

Mental Nutrition is choosing mental values that uphold and sustain life, remembering that without life, there is nothing of value.

In life-sustaining terms, values can be neatly categorised into three main areas.

  • Material values are a no-brainer. A new house, car, boat, vacation, jewellery, fashion choices, etc.
  • Satisfaction values, or destination values, are those we aspire to achieve. Examples include happiness, joy, pleasure, contentment, peace and fulfilment, or your desire to become a talented musician.
  • Life values bridge the gap between the physical world and what we want to achieve.

These spiritual values or virtues—such as courage, truth, diligence, and respect—help us achieve our goals and align with our core aspirations. Best of all, they are free; they cannot be bought, traded, taxed, gifted, or bequeathed.

Life Values

Life values are essential to success. Your subconscious mind operates automatically, using values like diligence, respect, fortitude, and patience to help you reach your goals; it cannot function effectively without them. There are approximately fifteen core life values, but none can be instilled in your conscious mind by a higher power, as that would override your free will.

This means we must consciously choose values that harmonise with those already present in our subconscious. When you do this, your mental capabilities will thrive because both your conscious and subconscious minds will be aligned. In contrast, if they are not in sync, you are likely to experience conflict, anxiety, and stress.

Mental nutrition, as I have described, is something that neuroscientists are still in the process of discovering, but now you are aware of this important concept. They will catch up in due time.

You are a winner

Our conscious choice to embrace certain values allows us to become co-creators with "nature and nature's God," as Thomas Jefferson wrote in the US Declaration of Independence. These values are embedded in our subconscious mind from birth. Even as infants, without the ability to speak, perform math, or understand science, we instinctively utilise these values. They connect us to our life force—our divine essence.

Consider this analogy: the nutritional value we gain from our food depends on its quality, not merely on the digestive process itself. Our physical health relies on the nutrients in the food and drink we consume. In general, our digestion works effectively unless it is adversely affected by harmful substances.

Mental Nutrition

Similarly, our mental, emotional, and spiritual success relies on the values present in our thoughts, regardless of the mental faculties we possess. These values operate consciously and spiritually within us.

Do you recognise today’s issue? Neuroscience fails to link consciousness with our digestive process, particularly in relation to nutrients. As a result, the topic of spiritual life values is often overlooked. Even psychologists miss learning about their crucial importance and how they are communicated between our two minds, as well as their purpose.

The simple truth is that values energise our two minds just as nutritional elements nourish our bodily organs and systems. Life values provide the greatest benefits with the least effort while protecting us from jeopardising that ability.

Of course, we can also choose harmful values such as greed, arrogance, deceit, disrespect, and apathy, which can lead to disastrous outcomes, even if they seem relatively harmless.

Mental Nutrition and Natural Law

When we align both minds with life-affirming values, frequencies harmonise like a symphony. There is no conflict. Everything flows smoothly, enhancing mental efficiency, leading to emotional joy and happiness, and ultimately resulting in a fulfilling and prosperous life.

In this state, everything is in order and in accordance with “intrinsic natural law." This demonstrates how mental nutrition interacts with natural law to sustain our lives without overriding our free will.

In the simplest terms, achieving success in life involves clearly deciding what you truly desire and aligning your goals and aspirations with life-value principles. These life values must be actively practiced because a choice without action is merely wishful thinking.

The beautiful secret lies in internalising these values into the subconscious mind, where they become automatic. This process puts your life on autopilot, following your chosen path, while smashing your mental workload. By doing this, you become a co-creator, just as your Source Creator intended.
