A story about Value

The book by Scott Bartle follows a single word through the US Constitution — Value — and finds two competing systems hiding inside it: one where value is a debt you owe to bankers, and one where value is something the people create that benefits the nation. The documentary makes the same argument, just with better lighting.

Incorporating Natural Rights

The book includes a guest chapter authored by me on natural rights. 

As I have emphasised, The Declaration of Independence includes the words "the laws of nature and of nature's God.” Independently, my son and I concluded that the framers of the Declaration understood exactly what the ”laws of nature” meant. The Founders did not include those words simply to appear knowledgeable. They grasped the truth of human nature and that VALUE - the value we create through our effort is (crucially) fundamental. 

How then has the country and the world strayed from natural law since then?

Andrew Jackson in his veto of the Bank Bill in 1832 referenced nature once more using it to demonstrate how law must apply equally:

"If it would confine itself to equal protection, and, as Heaven does its rains, shower its favors alike on the high and the low, the rich and the poor, it would be an unqualified blessing."
